Fungi Identification - Fungi living on ground leaves (Nov/22/2008 )

I have a possible fungi that is making a slimy goo when grown on ground leaves in Bolds media. When the fungi is put on a plate I get a lot of large filaments and possilbe spores. The cells are blue and cyan in color and seem to have various morphologies which could be multiple organisms. I have attached pics. Anyone have any ideas or seen this type of cell before. Why cyan in color?

That looks like Fusarium to me. Those long-ish cells look like macroconidia. Fusarium produces both macroconidia and microconidia which could explain the various morphologies.

Agree with EcoliBreath, looks like Fusarium. What color has the colony....ie is there some pink in it? This would be a good clue towards fusarium; but just to be sure, check for Cylindrocarpon and allied species, which can produce two types of conidia as well....from the pictures it looks like Fusarium.......

Thanks. I think you are right. I appreciate the help. The colonies are white with pink middle. there are hair like hypaea also. I wonder if I picked this up floating in the lab or if it was associated with the algae sample that I was originally trying to cultivate from a shallow river?
