Confirmation of the demethlayting treatment in cells - (Nov/16/2008 )

Dear all,

Everytime when i am going to investigate the consequences of demethylation of cells, i am not sure whether the cell's DNA is really demethylated or not. Is there any more convenient method other than bisulfite sequecing to confirm that the demethylating treatment really does the trick??

although not the best marker for demethylation we do viability assays and titrations to determine at what level of drug treatment do the cells die.

When you are demethylating the cells you generally make them really really sick and you should be able to see that in your system
