Gene complexity and protein complexity analysis - (Nov/11/2008 )

Can any1 give me examples of bioinfo tools which can be used for quantifying Gene complexity and protein complexity in a particular type of gene during its evolution?

well frankly speaking even i don't know what that is(i dont have a evolutionary background)...I have been asked to write a review paper by my prof on the bioinfo tools used for quantification of DNA and amino acid complexity in order to trace the evolution of silk-producing gene complexity over the history of spiders. So i guess it means that we want to try to find out how complex did the gene become over the period of evolution...i dont know if this helps..
