Chitinase - (Nov/06/2008 )

Hi there,
For chitinase assay, i need to get shrimp and crab shell powder.. anybody knows where to get it?

Sigma sells it. You probably need to acid treat it to release the chitin from the mineral matrix. I believe it is a rather obnoxious prep with 10% sulfuric acid for a few hours at elevated temperature, followed by neutralization and filtration.
