Does FRET by BFP/GFP work? - (Nov/05/2008 )

we have many GFP-tagged proteins, and like to produce new FP-tagged proteins. We think of BFP (such as from Evrogen) to have the option to do FRET with GFP-tagged proteins; has anyone experience with BFP/GFP FRET?

No, but what are the excitation/emission spectra like?

Looking at the spectra: yes it should work.
Knowing photostability of BFP's: I would try others, unless you only need flow cytometry based detection of FRET.

(Evrogen's BFP is a new one, they claim it's more photostable, but will you be the first to try it?).
