treatment effect to mouse - (Oct/28/2008 )

i have just preformed an aminal trail and the results were strange. mice in whole cell vaccine alone or antibody alone group were survival, but mice in vaccine+mAb group were found dead from multi -organ tumorigenesis. any one got any idea how it's happen?

Probably b-cell lymphomas I am guessing - multiple upregulation of immunity related production from the multiple assault of having more than one treatment pushed into the system. I think this has been observed in clinical trials before for antibody based treatments.

anyone know if they are lymphomas?

I know this is kind of late, but you can't actually tell the type of tumour just by dissecting it out, especially if it has undergone metastasis. You will need to fix and section the tumour(s) and then Hematoxylin and Eosin stain the sections, then get a pathologist to look at them, or compare them to a textbook of clinical pathology.

Mice are prone to lymphomas, especially as they get older or are exposed to radiation.
