Getting a Postdoc position - (Oct/17/2008 )

Dear Friends,

I am a research scientist with Ph.D. in microbiology and working in a private company in R&D biotechnology. I also have an experience with basic molecular techniques like PCR, RT PCR, Realtime PCR, electrophoresis etc, but still finding it difficult to get a postdoc position.

Can any one guide me in right direction or suggest me an approach. Its really frustating to see negative replies of scientists, i have sent about more than 500 applications to different locations and only one interview is the result what i have got!.

your kind suggestions are cordially invited.

Regards

the longer you work in a company the harder it is to go back to academia; maybe that is the problem?

Hi there

I am studying plant stem cell niche and auxin signaling. Also I did a lot of work on endosome cycling. But it is a pity I have not got a phd position in Europe, after I have connected some professors there. I think we have something similar about the situation!
