cell culure - need your help (Oct/15/2008 )

Hi to all,
I am Ph.D graduate working on Cancer. I wish to know Did anybody has tried to make a stable cell line in suspension cells. If how much time it takes? I am trying in K562 cells. Can I have some ideas.
thanks

I'm confused as to what you're asking after. K562 is a suspension cell line that is relatively stable over time, as much as any cancer cell line can be said to be stable.

Thanks for your reply. I am trying to transfect my gene of interest in K562 cells.

There's an entire subforum for Transfection here: http://www.protocol-online.org/forums/index.php?showforum=45

What method are you planning to use to make your stables? Retrovial? Lenti? or are you only transfecting in plasmids with selectable markers?

-Dr Teeth-

Thanks. I am using electroporation. I have my construct and also GFP marker.
