Defined medium preparation - Any guidelines to adhere to? (Sep/30/2008 )

Dear all,

I want to ask if there is any limit or guidelines to follow when preparing a defined medium for bacteria? I mean do they have to be in close relation (ratio) to each other?

Might wanna give more detail about what u planning to do . But in essence, ratio are definitely important , taht depends on the recipe.
