plant hormone - signaling (Sep/22/2008 )

Is there someone doing research about plant hormone signaling or stem cell niches?

Search OVID for plant hormones or phytohormones or plant growth regulatosr (or specific hormones). There is a lot research and many papers on that topic. M.

Plant hormones (also known as phytohormones) are chemicals that regulate plant growth. Plant hormones are signal molecules produced within the plant, and occur in extremely low concentrations. Hormones regulate cellular processes in targeted cells locally and when moved to other locations, in other locations of the plant. Plants, unlike animals, lack glands that produce and secrete hormones.

hi stone

i'll be doing some plant hormone signalling in my project, is there anything you're particularly interested about? in one of the latest issues of nature there was an interesting paper about plant growth regulators, you should check it out:

Nature 455, 176-177 (11 September 2008)
Plant biology: Hormones branch out
Harry Klee

cheers.

Hi toejam

It sounds good that you get a project on plant signaling. I am interested in auxin signaling and how it influence stem cell niche in root apical meristem. sometimes about cytokinin signaling.

The paper I can not download from nature. Could you send it to me? I would highly appreicated.
