please can you help me to take a Decision - (Sep/11/2008 )

hi all
iam a teaching assistant in faculty of computer science and information system-Computer science departement -Mansoura University -Egypt
iam on the rout to register my research point to acquire MSc in computer science departement .iam very interested in bioinformatics topic
especially computational biology and i want to register my research point about DNA sequence analysis using rough sets .and my supervisor
suggest to me to change this point because it takes very long time to understand the computational biology world and because i am computer scientific not biological scientific . but really iam very very sad to leave this point . my supervisor is not specialist in this area .
please can all of you give me advice about my rout .iam 23 years old and i want to make some thing useful to our notion not to take any master in any thing .
also i nead your opinions about research points in this field useful to me and proper to my academic study
and guide to start this rout in effective mannar .

It is never easy to give advice on the career you wish to follow. One thing for sure is that you would have to change your supervisor (if you can). May I suggest you look up a few people in the field you want to pursue and write to them directly? You can send the same letter to the first and the last author of papers you find interesting. They can tell you which set of skills is necessary and where the field is going.
