How to identify whether a mutation in intron is binding site? - (Sep/04/2008 )

HI all, I have a problem to identify whether a deletion in intron is actually a transcriptor binding site? How to identify whether the mutation will give any impact to the transcription process of the gene? Thanks

Look at the ensembl database and see if the area surrounding that gene has been flagged as a regulatory sequence. If not then the chance are that it's not.

There are other databases you could do this with but I can't think of any ATM.
