How to preserve blood serum? - (Aug/29/2008 )

Hello everybody!
Could anyone please tell me how to keep blood serum some days before it being preserved in liquid nitrogen at -196ºC?
I think it can be kept in the fridge during 3 days and after that at -20ºC. Can I thaw it and freeze again until -196ºC?
Thanks.
Luísa

What we do is freeze it at -80oC exactly after the isolation from whole blood. We don't freeze it at liquid nitrogen.

Good luck..

I agree with doctorT. Never heard about liquid nitrogen for serum blink.gif

Keep in -80degC and thaw-freeze not more than once.
