It is really bad to get you into that trouble so long time. That crazy 'lady' will be punished not only by your institute but also by the God in her whole life. Anyway, Let bygones be bygones. Donot leave that lab. I hope everything is ok from now and you have a pleasure time there. Always be behind you. Good luck!

You mean only with the 'entering time records' she has been accused? Or, were there any other evidences? Did she confess?

Just firing her might not be the end of everything. She will always be out there. Please try to sort out what was wrong with her and see if the differences can be sorted out. If someone is that 'crazy', there is possibility of any other forms of madness she can possibly do. Like it was said in another post, 'stupidity has no limit' and so does madness. Be careful and try to settle everything with her rather than just be happy that she will be fired.

I agree with Bungalow Boy here. From what you've told us she sounds like she may be seriously troubled, Though it maybe hard for you to be sympathetic, I think it needs handling carefully and kindly- Maybe something has happened to make her act out like this. Stress in her medical career or personal life maybe, it must be hard to juggle medical duties with research. You should discuss carefully with your Supervisor and whole lab maybe.
Its a pretty shocking turn of events and I hope it can be resolved with out too much trauma.

did she argue with you over anything before?
what is her motives?
she hates you? or your boss?

i really can't imagine working with such a person.
furthermore, she is a doctor, with an evil heart.

We had collected plenty of evidence on it. It was not that we did not give her chance to stop what she was doing but she has crossed the line too far this time.

Bullying is prevalent in enviroments which are permissive for bullying. If no action is taken to stop them, they would only continue what they think is right.

She may be facing plenty of stress but that does not provide her unlimited license to destroy other people's properties and inflict pain. If she has decided to do this, then she should have expected the worst in the first place.

A few month back in Tokyo, a man (Tomohiro Kato) crashed into Akihabara (Tokyo, Japan), killed 7 people and wounded many. He thought that he has the right to "eliminate" people just because he was upset with his life (work, no girlfriend, etc). He has stress but that does not mean he can crash out and kill people.

All my supervisors (I have 3) knows about this. The whole lab will eventually know about this too.

Whether handling the situation with care or kindness is not up to me on what to say. The effects of what she had done is huge, because my lab not only handles researches but many other civil/national responsibilities as well.

As to what are her motives, the only way to find out is to question the person herself. As much as I can speculate, we never can 100% know what are in the minds of criminals.

this is a serious matter...
sabotage other people's experiment purposely.

if trespassing other people's property is a crime, so do sabotaging other people's scientific experiment.

Kato became an instant hero for many with that event and many even want to follow his foot-steps.

I was not asking U to sympathise here. What I meant was if she can poison your cells for some motive, she can go far worse than that and harm you more. There is where U need to be careful and deal with her 'reason' for sabotaging. Otherwsie, she is guilty and she should be punished. But, just don't be satisfied with that much.

Yup, good luck with that one buddy.

We're behind you!

It is good that you have finally found out who have done these poisoning.

And all your supervisors understand the reason behind the cell dying and support you.

I wonder whether she will be fired. Please inform us with any further developement.

Of course you have every right to be angry and upset ( I would be). I meant that Bungalow Boy had a valid point, lets face it most normal straight thinking people would not be so malicious and evil at risk to both their scientific and medical career and life. I'm fully aware of the terrible incident in Akihabara ( I also live in Japan) and can't understand his reasoning and decision to carry out such an act, but then why should we, again - Would you call him normal or sane?
It is this kind of response that made me say what I said. As you said she has just had a baby- and still was carrying out sabotage on your work.
She has destroyed her career and life as a scientist and probably as a doctor as well as being a mother. This does not sound like someone who is thinking or reasoning all that clearly.
Its a very sad situation and you have all my sympathy.
