cell cultur medium - (Jul/30/2008 )

dear all,
i am in ruptur of minimum essential medium, now is it possible to prepar my complete medium without D-MEM?.With what can i replace the MEM which play the same role?
for 50ml of complet medium i use : 43,5 ml of RPMI + 5 ml of FBS + 0,5 ml MEM + 0,5 ml of L-GLU + 0,5 mL of STREP-PENICYLINE.
I prepar the complete medium to thaw PBMCs frozen in nitrogen liquid and to do three hours of cell cultur whit PMA + IONOMICIN + BREFELDIN A.
thanks for helps

Wow steady on partner.

MEM contains all the many Vitamins, Salts, Glucose etc required for long term maintenance and culture of cells. There are many different variations on the "Theme":
Waymouth's
Iscove's
Hams
MCDB 131
and RPMI etc etc etc

For short term work (3hours) you may get away with PBS + 10% FCS + 1000mg/L L-Glucose. Hope this calms you down.
