Acid hydrolysis of protein - (Jul/21/2008 )

Hi,

I want do metal analysis of a recombinant protein using ICPMS. I have to hydrolyze the protein before analysis. Acid digestion using HNO3/Hcl is the method of choice.

I would be glad to share your knowledge/experience with the same.

usually HCL is used to hydrolyze the protein.
but u want to determine metal, right!
nitric acid will preferable to digest the sample for metal analysis.
