Basics of Intellectual Property Rights - Free course offered by the WIPO (Jul/04/2008 )
Hi,
I wanted to share this with you: The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) offers free online courses on Intellectual Property. Might be interesting for everyone working with new and innovativ methods / materials / ... (so almost everyone in science
) but also if you just want to understand the discussions about patents and copyright.
I took part in the course last year and it was really good. The course has 12 modules and lasts 6 weeks. There are tutors to answer questions and a forum to discuss the topics of the current modul. At the end there is an exam and afterwards they send you a certificate if you pass it.

Thx Vista. That would be helpful. Let me see if I can arrange my time.
Thanks for the info, Vista: it looks very interesting!
Cheers!
Is the exam hard or easy?
Great that you like it ![]()
Medium
The time you have to answer the questions is really generous, so there should be no problem to finish in time. But - as you are allowed to use all the course material - you can't just read of the answers. It is more focused on understanding than on learning by heart.
But after each chapter there is a short excercise with questions similar to the ones in the exam. So you won't be hit by totally unexpected questions
Did anyone of you join the course?
No yet.
I will do the course after I submit my PhD thesis.
