hi again,

did any of you see the movie "the island"? when they design the agnates as body part replacements? the plot consists in supposely these agnates don't feel and are not humans (basically presented to their contributors as a piece of meat) but one of them shows otherwise. if that doesn't convince you it has some explosions too and a cadillac V12 smile.gif

I too read in some news about this a long time back and surprisingly, it is linked to only the 'heart' transplant according to the paper that covered a few case stories.

Yes, liver transplants are usually butcher-style operations with lots of blood and trauma, unlike neat, clean heart transplants. So, the liver suffers from immense stress and therefore forgets anything from previous life. he problem with kidneys is that they are usually transplanted not to their normal locus but rather in pelvis. Due to unnatural localization they also forget their previous host habits... However, it would be interesting to perform brain transplantation and observe whether or not any memory persists. Brain transplantation could be performed to save Siamese twins with only one heart, but two heads... The surplus head could be transplanted on anencephalic babies... But, for this actually to work, all of the mentioned babies should be at least two years old. M.

but then if siamese twins have two brains (one "native" and the other one implanted), it could generate a sort of schizophrenia if the implanted brain keeps its memories, which is not so uncommon but this implant would represent a new way of acquiring this mental disease.
