FRET Imaging :Hela cells - (May/31/2008 )

I have a question, for HeLa cells, after how many hours (minimum) of seeding cells in DMEM+!0% FBS, transfection can be performed without worrying about the fact that cells are still not completely adhered to the surface ?

Whats the doubling time for Hela cells, is it 19 hrs?

I am trying to study p-p interaction by FRET imaging, can you expect the expression of proteins after 40-42 hrs ? my proteins r fusion of GFP and DsRed.

Thanks for your help !

you will only succeed with FRET if both GFP and DsRed are strongly expressed; you may have to establish at least one stably expressing cell line for the GFP- or DsRed-fusion protein...
