Journal article methods - (May/24/2008 )

Hi there,

Im reading this journal article (about apoptosis) and as im reading the methods section..im just wondering something...they say they carry out immunocytochemistry and a MTT assay and also Hoechst staining on neuro2A cells from mice...soo wat im wondering is...do they use a number of different mice cell cultures and carry out a techinque on each culture?

cos say for this article it said using a 96 well plate they fixed cells etc etc...then it talks about the MTT then talks abot ICC and so one..so does each method ppl used in a experiment require diff. samples?

hope that makes sense..and sorry that its such a dumb q!!

thx in advance

since I do not know the concrete article, I suppose the following: methods section are often condensed which means not being precise in detail; even if it is not mentioned distinctly, I believe that they used different samples to perform the different assays
