DNA laddering in Smooth Muscle Cells - (Feb/13/2008 )

Has anybody got experience with DNA laddering in vascular smooth muscle cells. I have been trying to determine apoptosis in these cells using different inducers at different concentrations and also did a time course and keep getting no ladder. However the positive control does work.
I was wondering if it my be the gel I am using it's a 1% agarose gel...

Hello I have uploaded a photo of a DNA run I did to see fragmentation in Vascular smooth muscle cells....
Lane 1: DNA ladder
Lane 2: SMC's
Lane 3: SMC's
Lane 4: positive control

Is what I see in lane 2 and 3 laddering???
