how could i calculate the metabolic rate of daphnia magna, knowing the oxygen consumption and the weight of the organism? cheers

metabolic rate is often recorded as either co2 emission rate or o2 consumption rate. you have o2 consumption rate, so if you have the period of time in which you recorded the o2 consumption, then you can simply just divide o2 consumption by the time and get o2 per unit time, which is an indicator of metabolic rate. if you want mass specific metabolic rate you can also divide by the weight of the organism and get amount of o2 consumed per unit weight per unit time.
