Genomic DNA Extraction - Frozen Tissue (Feb/11/2008 )

hallo,

is it possible to isolate genomic DNA from frozen tissue?

thanks

-moljul-

yes.

-bob1-

That's usually the case.

-Ambrósio-

Some people have even isolated genomic DNA from paraffin sections of human tissue. Its supposed to be difficult.

So from frozen tissue, its should be possible.

-scolix-

we have frozen plant tissue at -80 °C for at least six months and the DNA extraction presents no problem at all.

-toejam-

most certainly.
