Ethanol precipitation of protein - (Feb/05/2008 )

Hi,

Do you know at which concentration of ethanol, proteins starts to precipitate? I ask this question because I have use ethanol for the isolation of lipids from chylomycrons, I and would like that proteins do not precipitate in the first step of precipitation. This is why I want the approximative limit for protein precipitation.

Thanks a lot!

Serum globulins start to precipitate at 15% and albumins at 40% of EtOH (at pH 5.0 and 8 deg.C)
