How to find a gene in a genome that has a high frequency of specific amino acid? - (Jan/29/2008 )

Can anyone tell me if there is any software to analyze whole genome sequence and to find out any specific gene that has a high frequency of certain amino acid? Many thanks.

No there is no software that can do that, unless you write something by urself to scan whole genome products.

What is your endgoal? What genome are you looking for ? and what do you hope to achieve ?

If you look at the statistics of protein sequences deposited in the Expasy (http://ca.expasy.org/sprot/relnotes/relstat.html), it will give you a fair idea of the most frequently occurring aminoacids in proteins, but it may not help you find out a gene with a high frequency of a particular aminoacid.

if you give specific details we can see if something can be worked out.
