Radioactive hybridisation - Labelling the nucleotides (Jul/05/2004 )

[COLOR=red][FONT=Courier][SIZE=7][I]
Why is that most of the labs use alpha P32 labelled dCTP for labelling?

Is ther any specific reason for using this label?

Plz reply!

Mishla,
People usually use dCTP to label all along a DNA strand as it is normally alpha labelled and dATP just to label at the 5' Phosphate group as it usually is gamma labelled.
I hope it helps
