Confocal Microscopy - (Dec/05/2007 )

Anyone know where i can find information on Confocal Microscopy?? I am looking to analyse cellular uptake of a specifically labelled particle but i was wondering how the sample should be prepared before analysis?? Any advice or links to background reading on the subject would be greatly appreciated

I think it is not really a question of confocal microscopy; I would try to find a paper or a competent group which is working with those labeled beads; try pubmed or launch a new topic at Bioforum detailing your request on your beads of interest

Dear Calpol,

Sounds like you need to do live cell imaging with a confocal. This is the hardest skill to learn. Check out the Zeiss, Leica and PerkinElmer websites for Confocal information. We have 2 Confocals in our Institute and have arrangements with "Technical Experts" from those companies to train new users and even experienced users in new confocal techniques. Look for Institutes that offer a Confocal service like ours. Reading papers on an associated subject is probably not the way to go.

Hope you find this useful
