What conc. of ssDNA and BSA? - To reduce background? (Dec/03/2007 )

Hi everyone,

I have had a crappy few days and I'm exhausted and so I want to go home!!!
Can you tell me what conc. of ssDNA and BSA you pre-block beads at for ChIP? I am not capable of staring at this coomputer screen any more!

Hi Clare

I only use ssDNA when blocking my beads. I use 25 ug (sonicated salmon sperm from Invitrogen) per 50 ul 50% slurry (ProtA sepharose from Amersham)

Thanks, so that's 500ug ssDNA/ml yeah? Is it just me or does that seem like a lot?
-I am definitely going home now
