Apyrase in cell culture - Half-life? (Dec/03/2007 )

I would like to use apyrase in my cell culture to remove extracellular ATP, however I will require an overnight incubation with this enzyme. I was wondering if anyone knows its half-life, I want to ensure that there is no extracellular ATP during this time. Can you inform me if this is feasible or will fresh apyrase containing media need to be added regularly? Most the literature state the use of apyrase for periods of less than an hour.

Any help will be appreciated,

Many thanks

I heard of it being used for 6 hours, no problem.

Have you tried calling the company where you bought it from? They'd be able to tell you exactly what you need.

Thanks,
I read that it had been used for about 6 hours but this is not enough for what I need.
I did call the company but they were not helpful at all, just said they couldn't help and directed me to the datasheet! (which does not give the information I need). So I thought I'd ask here. I will just try different incubation times,
Thanks again.

send an email to the technical department of the company. detail the experiment, and your concerns, and say the data sheet isn't all that helpful.

Could you do the assay during the day?
or you might consider adding the apyrase in the afternoon, and then adding it again just before going home.
