Malaysian way of democracy - i'm sad... (Nov/12/2007 )

Pages: 1 2 Next

As a Malaysian, who was born and love this country so much, i'm sad and ashamed coz there is no more democracy in this land. Many Malaysians has joined the peaceful BERSIH (means "CLEAN") rally on 10 Nov 2007, to submit memorandum to Yg DiPertuan Agong, or The King regarding to people's voice.
There are more then 40K people joined this rally. However, all local media did not report anything about this. There is rarely any demostration or rally in Malaysia. But this time, people are really angry with this corrupted govt. It WAS a peaceful gathering until police spraying chemical-laced water to the crowed, and also tear gas.

For all Malaysian out there in this forum, either you are in this country or doing research in other country... support this and our King by wearing YELLOW on every Saturday.

Don't be sad as I think there are some countries which are worse than Malaysia, like my country Iran, that many people know there isn't any freedom!

Then you are more lucky than me wink.gif ..

When we achieve independent... everything was OK. no corruption, no racial issue. But now, everything is so racial. Not the people make it racial. it's the govt. they think everything in racist way. In fact. the real situation is not like what they think.

They claim the policy is to protect the poor Malays, but the poor still remain poor. but the rich and those who has close relationship with the govt, got all the wealth and mega projects....

Wah, do we really need to wear yellow every saturday? I prefer to stay out rather to join in the 'fun'.

Yup..I agree...However...Malaysia is still Malaysia...which mean "Malays"+"ia"...Malays is at front..and they are suppose to be superior. Our country democracy isn't fully utilise. We are actually said and thought to be a democracy country..but in fact we are still under dictator. We have voice out the injustice for so long...but nothing work. Haiz...dats why..Malaysia is still Malaysia. No changes. glare.gif

People use democracy in a way which they can get benefit (i mean the administrators). So not having democracy may be better than having it on some other ones hand.smile.gif

ya... the definition of "democracy" depends on the people who run the country. What they do is correct, what other people do is illegal.
