Program to help you read papers - (Oct/31/2007 )

Hi,

I recently found a program for Mac (http://mekentosj.com/papers/) which looks great and I think it can help you read papers alot. So, here is my question: do anyone know about a program doing something similar for windows?

thanks.

The program is called PAPERS. I very much recommend it!!! It is the one place to organise all your pdf, read them, add notes or search for new ones by different search engines. It is the link missing between pdf that you read in Acrobat Reader and their metafiles to organise/search them as you can do in reference programs such as Endnote. Here is a description from the developers:

'Papers is the award-winning* application that bundles all the great technologies that come with MacOSX to give you a complete new workflow for reading scientific articles. You find, download, archive, and organize all your articles within a single application. But that is just the start, using spotlight you instantly find back the paper you are looking for. Read it fullscreen, add your notes, send a copy to a colleague... These are just a few of the many features that after using them yourself you will never want to give up again...

Papers is a program made by Alexander Griekspoor (Mek) and Tom Groothuis (Tosj), who both did their PhD in the Neefix laboratories, doing biomedical research at the cellular level. During their PhD they created a number of freeware application now heavily used in laboratories worldwide. These include the 2004 Apple Design Award winning sequence viewer and the 2006 Apple Design Award winner EnzymeX, a program designed to help you find the right restriction enzymes for the desired cleavage of your DNA. Be sure to check out these and our other tools to help you organize your life at a research laboratory! Visit our website: http://mekentosj.com, to learn more....

I do not think there is something similar for Windows.

Why don't they create another version for PC?

Many researchers use PC.

Sounds like the newer endnote versions do all the things listed?
