Balb/c nu/nu knockout mice - (Oct/18/2007 )

hi everyone!

could anyone tell me, please, what gene is knockdowned in Balb/c nu/nu mice? I only know, that they are nude mice without a thymus. But I can't find any hint, which gene is knockdowned! rolleyes.gif

Hopefully someone can help me with this!?! Thanx a lot!!!

the genotype's a bit complex

if you go to Jackson's website they have good strain information and can give you the background you need; the strain name is CBy.Cg-Foxn1nu/J

Hi!
Thanx a lot for your quick reply wink.gif
I looked @ your hint, but I have to say, that I don't get the clue. The only thing I understand, is, that Foxn1nu is the gene for hairlessness and the athymic. but I thought, that it's a knockdown mouse?! so, there is no information about it... do you know the gene? maybe you can help me again, please? huh.gif
