Free software for tree editing ? - (Oct/01/2007 )

Hi there,

Does anyone know of any good freeware (or to purchase?) programs for tree editing? I have used Treeview and Mega.

In both it is difficult to import trees from another program and keep the information on branch lengths and bootstrap values, and then to edit the species names and add additional posterior probability values at nodes.

I would like to be able to save the final trees as Tif files.

If anyone can recommend any programs, that would be great!

I use BioEdit, and most recently CLC free Workbench (this one saves files in many formats, including tif). Both are free!

Try Treeplot, Treeexplorer, T-rex... have a look at: http://evolution.genetics.washington.edu/p...e.html#Plotting . There are many links and descriptions.
