Where exactly are mesenchymal stem cells located in bone marrow? - (Sep/26/2007 )

I was proposing that I wanted to isolate MSCs from mice bone marrow to do some experiments.
I was asked this quesiton.
I don't know the exact ansewer, even after I did some literature research.
Can anyone help me ?

Pittenger MF, Mackay AM, Beck SC, Jaiswal RK, Douglas R, Mosca JD, Moorman MA, Simonetti DW, Craig S, Marshak DR.

Looks like they're part of the stroma from most abstracts. The author's isolated them from the illiac crest and it looks like there aren't a well-defined set of surface markers.
