this is the formulation given:

Gamborg's B5 Basal Medium
0.5 g/liter MES, pH 5.7
0.05 mg/liter Kinetin
0.5 mg/liter 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid (2,4-D)
0.8% (w/v) Agar
2% (w/v) Glucose

gamborg is the name of the person who devised this medium (it is also called: Callus Induction Medium).

what MES stand for?

2-(N-Morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid

it is a pH buffer (maintains constant pH of the solution).

you're new to this stuff, aren't you?

in that case, you will require some local guidance.

in case you don't know, you will have to adjust the pH of the MES (usually with KOH) after it is dissolved otherwise it will not be at the pH you require.

good luck with your project.
