RUGBY WORLD CUP - are you ready?! (Sep/05/2007 )

Pages: 1 2 3 4 Next

I think there are many other bioforumers that are waiting for the kick off of Rugby World Cup, so:
GOOD LUCK AND MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!!!

The (realistic) aim of the Italian team is to reach the quarterfinal... ph34r.gif (finger crossed) ph34r.gif ...
...anyway I'm waiting for our first match on next Saturday: Italy VS New Zealand, Stade Velodrome-Marseille!!! wink.gif

Is anyone going to go to see a match???

-ila-

I won't make it to any in person, but I'll catch a few on TV smile.gif

My prediction: Most likely final is France v New Zealand, with an All Black win. Second most likely is Australia v France with another Wallaby win. England to fall at the quarterfinals (not because Jonny Wilkinson isn't there, but because they don't have anybody like Johnson or Dallaglio), but the Welsh are outsiders to make the semis.

Amikins: I didn't know you were a fan of the game they play in Heaven. You are in Seattle, but are you US-born? It's just not that common to find people from the States who are into rugby.

Bring it on!!!!

Wow, I've been living in a bubble here- I thought I'd missed it already. wacko.gif
Hurrah! apparently the Irish bars in Japan are showing some of the World cup, so I'll try and head there

As always I support the underdogs- Gambatte Scotland!

And if that fails (which is most likely) I'd like to see New Zealand win, simply because I have fond memories of them trampling (literally) all over England many years ago, which they deserved for their arrogance.

Anyway, may the best team win, and may I get out of the lab to watch a game (please!) rolleyes.gif

Seeing as how Japan is playing again, I would have thought some of the local bars might show the Japanese matches (unfortunately, they start off playing Australia...)

And when I'm not supporting the Wallabies, or whoever is playing England, I'll be with you cheering for the Scots! Are you Scottish?

Strange how almost everyone hates the Poms!

I am looking forward to watching it on TV. I will be supporting my native Scotland so I am not expecting anything good! blush.gif, but it will be a great event.

Me? Scottish? What gave it away?
Thanks for your support- they probably need all the help they can get (same for Japan too, esp. against Oz)

well france seems to be in good mood for now... and as forever team will be defeated. The prediction of swanny ay happen only if france reach first place of quals. If not, it will be france-New zealand on quarter finals. Honnestly i remember the 47-3 defeat, and don't guess france raise its play to be equal as NZ sad.gif
anyway, there are 3-4 bars with very good crowd to see the matchs.
Will have little pints blush.gif

swanny, I played when I was in university (wow...too many years ago now!)

I had never heard of the sport, when I tried out for the team just for fun. it was a blast. I'm not a rabid fan, but I like to watch a good game and it doesn't get better than the world cup

I like Ireland (lots of Irish blood a few generations back) and of course the All-Blacks are a great pick. I just like to watch well-played rugby, though
