Nerve temp. - (Sep/05/2007 )

Hey there,

Can someone please explain why the temp. of a nerve varies along a nerve...Ive read textbook/stuff online but its not very clear--in terms of conduction velocity is what I wish to find out..but the things I read just say "CV decreases by 2m/sec w/ each degree celsius that the temp. declined to the nerve" but I want to know what causes the decrease/increase in temp..

help much appreciated,
cheers
