SSA and NHEJ ...what do they mean? - (Sep/03/2007 )

helloo!!

recently, i read a paper about DNA double strand break repair, I try to distinguish between `single-strand annealing[SSA] ` & `non-homologous end joining [NHEJ] `... but still couldn`t comprehend....

I mean, if for SSA, how does DNA anneal? by overhangs or by blunt-ends DNA strand?

i really appreciate anyone who could help....help me understand my paper better.... biggrin.gif
