mouse genotyping - (Aug/28/2007 )
Hi there!
I have found a mouse strain which is claimed to be inbred with a heterozygotic locus. Is it normal? I mean in this case the offsprings won't be identical... there is a Mendelian dividing among them. So in fact what is the difference between inbred and outbred strains, if inbread strains can be heterogenous?

Inbred strains might have a similar genotype (here except for the one heterozygotic gene) than outbred strains.
