Suspension culture - (Aug/21/2007 )

im trying to study the growth kinetics of chilli cells..i was wondering how does one go about with it..i have read a few books and they suggest growing plant cells in suspension media the only problem is that these plant cells form aggregates or lumps..Hence how can one study growth kinetics when cells are in the form of lumps and not single cell.

Hi,

I am currently culturing rat liver suspension cells.
They form light aggregates after a day or so, but they grow a little slowly.....so I don't passage/expand them every day, but once in 2-3 days.
In between, I just pipette them lightly inside the flask itself, so the aggregates break up.

You can try that!
Good luck!
