DMSO soluble drug when added to DMEM get clotted, Why - Very urgent!!!!!!!! (Aug/08/2007 )

Hi all,

I have purchased kaempferol( Flavonoid, chemopreventive agent) from Sigma-aldrich Pvt Ltd. I dissolved it in DMSO( 100 %), problem arise when i added this to DMEM then it get clotted and get turbid.

i dont know why is this happening. if somebody have any solution or suggestion then kindly please me.

your agent is soluble in DMSO but not in water-based solution, so it precipitates when DMSO-solved agent is added to medium (dilution of DMSO); if your medium contains serum. you may add your DMSO-solved agent to stock serum in little portions, and looks what happens; may be better solubility of kaemperol by binding to plasma proteins; then added serum-solved agent to medium

I have to calculate the antiproliferative potential of kaempferol on the cancerous cells. would you please suggest me some suitable solvent i should use for this chemical.

i will be very much thankful.

follow the instructions of the provider if there is any; an alternative solvent should be ethanol; solubility is not endless but in a range of 10 -20 mg/ml
