How do you love yourself? - Slice of life (Jul/18/2007 )

Pages: 1 2 Next

Sorry guys... just abit of emo right here.

Don't know whether you guys heard of it before. But here it goes.
When in a relationship, one can love the other more than oneself. Is it a healthy relationship?

If you dont love yourself, how can you love someone else? The love must come from within before loving someone else isnt it?

My question now is how do you actually love yourself and not letting others to hurt you? wink.gif

No one knows the answer?

biggrin.gif Such musing and mulling over on these gorgeous summer days, what's wrong with you dude??? Actually summer betrayed us again, we've been having rains and more endless rains and cold temperatures mad.gif. Whay are we never happy? Why do we expect too much? Why doesn't s/he love me the way I love him/her wink.gif ? When am I going to find the"one" for me? sad.gif

Seriously, IMO, it would be very difficult to achieve a real "love" equality in a relationship. What is good enough for one could be nowhere even near the lowest expectations of the partner. That's why we have couples therapists. laugh.gif

Perhaps you can explain your last statement: if you have self-love, does this mean you will not give another person (your loved one) the power to hurt you or if you love yourself enough, you are then willing and able to take this chance of being hurt by the pesorn you love? Does this answer anything? biggrin.gif

Pardon such drivel in these gorgeous summer days,

casandra

it is not wrong to love someone more then yourself. but if you feel that you love someone more then yourself until you feel hurt... why you want to make yourself suffer? this is not selfish act.

if you love someone more then yourself and that makes you happy... ok, keep it up... keep going.
if you love someone more then youself, but that person is making your life a miserable/living in hell ... why should you continue with it? will you feel happy even you love that person more?
if that person is happy to make your life suffer... he/she doesn't love you... not worth it, man!

summary: find someone that worth for your love.

Will it still be 'love' if U think so much? Think with mind and love with heart, right?

Thanks alot for all the replies. I guess I am just too young or perhaps immature to understand what's love all about.

I am taking things easily now. Not to push/force too much. But thinkings are still thinkings. Can't help it but indulge into it. I am working hard for it now. Hehe...

Love or relationship isnt something that I can handle properly. I am just another ordinary human after all with tons of emotions..haha... Anyway, thanks for all the responses. wink.gif

we all learn from experience..... esp the not-so-good one... ha!

hey all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wub.gif miss you all so much everyone. just passed by and wanted to reply to this post. (timjim, how are your protein expression experiments glare.gif )......yes you should first learn to love yourself and then try to love others. or you will end up in *please love me* game. rolleyes.gif you can love yourself by letting yourself do what it likes on every opportunity possible. when you are confident that your time by your self is not at all less satisfiying than your time with your partner, than you are on the right track. good luck! and remember to bring her a LOT of rosses on every occassion! oops ph34r.gif blush.gif

Hi Kathy. Welcome back. We all miss you (well, I am missing you definitely). I guess you are right. I am still learning to love myself first. It looks very ugly as if I am begging for someone to love me. I can definitely know how to love someone till I lost my own identity which is a wrong way to do so.

My protein expression is working. Now it is just the purification part. Another tough part.

Thank you for all the personal messages and replies. Really love you guys (whoops... ok.. i love myself more of course). wink.gif

Unconditional love is the best love, I guess. If we love ourselves to the upmost, then there should be enough LOVE in us for giving out unconditionally, without expecting a return. Love is not investment, right? If it is, then it'd surely be painful to lose big bucks. laugh.gif

Sigh! I'm not loving myself. I love my experiment more than I love myself. My bench is much cleaner compared to me. My books are more organized than my hair. What can I say? Haha..

Anyway, hope you're feeling better now. You have all our unconditional love and attention here.

Cheers
