Don’t you think it would be interesting to have a meeting of bioforum member ..?
Be able to meet bioforum, fred 33, scolix, aimikis, perneseblue, the beater, minnie mouse, Kathy, genehunter-1 and so on. All that people who have made our research and our lives easier and better!

A meeting sounds great! I was able to meet Almasy few weeks back.
I would love to join if there will be somewhere near to me. But I guess no luck for that. 
Certainly sounds interesting.
Although, as has been stated unlikely to happen in RL. But we already do have the chatroom. I guess the next stage up from that would be to hold a conference on Second Life, or similar.

at first glance it sounds interesting, however, I do not know how many like to unmask their second life and anonymity;
the second problem is, you need s.o. who will manage it, and, third, any meeting needs money for organization...
looks interesting 
but it's really difficult since most members are coming from diff countries
Why not just ask who is participating a certain meeting and then arrange a meeting somewhere like information point or so?

Yeah, I sure would like to meet "the beater"
but I guess he hasn't actually made my life and my research any easier nor better, still...I like to read his posts though most of the time they sound german to me and I'm completely way out of my depth 
Just imagine a bioforum meeting in one of the carribean islands <sigh>?
I would love to meet everyone, but no one will give me a grant for a bioforum meeting
