A FRIEND OF MINE IS VERY SERIOUS IN LEAVING PHD. HE WANT TO GO TO TOP RANKED UNIVERSITY BUT THE PROBLEM IS THIS YEAR HE CAN EASILY FINISH PHD BUT HE DONOT WANT, I GIVE ME SUGGESTION GO FOR POST DOC BUT BIG UNIVERSITY WILL NOT TAKE AS A POST DOC. IT IS POSSIBLE HE CAN JOIN BIG UNIVERSITY AS A PHD STUDENT AND IN THE MEAN WHILE HE CAN COMPLETE HIS PHD FROM SMALL UNIVERISTY.

small or big it doesn't matter . The most important thing is to finish the PhD as fast as possible even if he can take it from home -HAA-

If he changed university, his current PhD mentor/s will be very angry
and upset. Besides, it is a small world in the research area. His old mentor/s may decide to hunt him out and may say bad things about him to his new mentors.
One of my friends had done it...it was horrible
....she lost her part-time lecture and tutorial job...make enemies with the whole department of the previous university I think she may be struggling in her PhD, as the new mentors may not like her.

Yeah I suggest the same thing to him. Just full fill the the requirement and go to some where else after full filling the all requirement.
