If you are a lady it can be because of your hormonal changes (one of the PMS symptoms). The physicions usually give some benzodiazepines (like oxazepam, clonazepam, diazepam and....); But to my experience the best drug is antihistamines (the ones that can cause sleepiness); Believe me they act like a miracle. Try them.

some general advices:

-eat at least 1 hour before going to bed (not eat and inmediately go to bed)
-take a relaxing bath
-ask someone for a massage in your back-shoulders-neck (that´s really good)
-try to think about something relaxing when going to bed, avoid thinking about experiments or problems that can get you easily nervous
-read a book in bed
-listen to classical music (or anything calm) when you are in bed or before

in general, try to be relaxed, in a quiet ambient before going to bed and don´t think about stressing things. It´s difficult but make an effort, try to "switch off your mind". If you go to bed nervous, or obsessed with something, it will be very difficult to sleep properly.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Dear Reesei!

so sorry for your lack of sleep. rule: please dont drink anything tat contains cafeine. when you are in bed: breath deeply and calmly for as long as it takes you to fall asleep. wit each breathing empty your brain....

-try not to go bed unless you feel sleepy
-sometimes i read children stories or watch the pictures at least in a magazine, it helps
-as kathy said, don't drink coffee, tea or soft drinks before sleeping, have a bath and drink some milk
-i prefer not to sleep during the day, especially after 3pm, because it becomes really difficult to sleep at night
-also, try not to set on computer one hour at least before sleeping

hope this help smile.gif

try to avoid watching TV or use computer 30 min before sleep.

I read somewhere...the expert said watch TV and use computer actually stimulate the brain...therefore your brain is not relax...difficult to fall asleep.

2 tips:

maybe valerian tea will help (tastes not very good, but sedative)
when I´m not able to fall asleep I listen to gentle music

See a video of radioactivity training seminar every night before going to sleep! biggrin.gif
