Phoenix 293T packaging cells - (May/26/2007 )

I have some hand me down Phoenix cells for retroviral packaging but they have not been selected for years. I have had problems with viral production from these cells.

Any postdocs in the New England area or anywhere have a good stock of Phoenix cells.

I have various other cells lines I could swap, e.g. EcoPack293, PT67 and so on.

Anyone interested.

Help!!

Phoenix cells are not an absolute requirement for production of retroviruses. You can easily obtain a good result by using 293T cells.

Quite right. try to get some 293T's, it works equally good.

why don't you just re-select them? that usually helps significantly.
