Molecular Biology Techniques Forum - (May/22/2007 )

has anyone experience with Molecular Biology Techniques Forum?

I wonder if it is really independent as it has been launched by Biotechniques, a very good but commercial journal...

the biotechniques forum is the first one to which i subscribed. it is similar to bioforum but not as busy. the members and moderators appear to be as thoughtful and knowledgeable as here, indeed, there is cross-membership.

there is no paper sharing on biotechniques, there are questions about copyright infringement.

-mdfenko-

The Biotechniques forum is the successor of the Northwest Fisheries forum, and has been active for many years. As Mdfenko says, there are fewer people and it is substantially less active than this forum, but the quality of the people hanging out there seems quite high. I have a bone to pick with the Biotechniques folks, however, in that they show no interest in putting the back issues of their "journal" online, and it is a real pain to find hardcopies of old (pre 1995) articles.

Likewise. It is a very well-moderated forum, though the lower traffic probably helps make that easier.
