What's the temperature of a normal weather? maybe i can not say: normal, but a comfortable temperature? Hope you can tell me, thanks.

Hi

standard temperature for labs is 20 degrees Celsius, at this temp all the glassware will measure the volume stated, and it is comfortable to work in. WHO standards state that dwellings should be above 16 degrees Celsius at all times to prevent condensation forming.

I don't know if this helps at all.

equlibrium of tempreature regulation of a human body is 20°C in air and 33° in water

i think "normal" can be a little bit subjective, and often times not used in scientific parlance. But for comfortable temp, i think fred is right, as it is based on equilibrium temp regulation of the human body

so what about room temp???

we need to run some experiment in room temperature, in my country it was 25c and here in japan it is 20c
though atleast 5 months of the year the room temperature remain below 20c

I think that if the expt is to be done at "room temp", it doesn't really matter if it is 20 or 25 degrees, although if you're getting down below that, it just gets a bit uncomfortable for you! What is the expt that you are thinking about?

In a former lab of mine the cell culture room used to have a room temperature of around 18 degrees C in wintertime and around 37 degrees in summertime. "Take the cells out of the incubator and incubate at room temp... wait a minute..."

i think the use of the word "room temp" or "RT" should be changed. its very subjective. But usually, since most labs uses airconditioning system, then the temp of the aircon can be said as the room temp. Plus it eliminates the influence of hot temp outside. I guess the "comfortable" range of temperature will not vary much in countries. Somewhre around 16-25C...but the problem is during winter, since we are using heater...whc can go as high as more than 30

ok just tell me, when you precipitate DNA you use around 4c. and when you wash with 70% ehtanol, you use room temperature?? so at that time in what degree you set your centrifuge machine??

i usually precipitate my DNA (with ethanol) in -70C freezer. Most of our centrifuges are set at 4C
