Moso tribe - The Matriarchal Society of Moso, China (Apr/16/2007 )

Now, doesn't this family structure seem more peaceful. No in-laws, no marrigaes for material wealth, no worries for paternity... since it isn't a factor to begin with. a more robust relationship as partners don't feel pressured to stay. Even knowing you can leave, makes it easier to stay.

blink.gif so what job the father is concerned about, just marrying and changing his "wife" when he became no longer interested in her glare.gif ...i don't think that this the real peace, they need to be educated to their rights and obligations, especially the wives and children dry.gif

PS: perneseblue, how did you get this page!! i tried to go back to the main page, but it was in chinese/japanese !!!

Ah, but men the in this culture are educated about their obligations. Maso men are obligated to provide for his family/clan financially, materially and raise the children of his sister(s).

The family structure is different. There are obligations, just different.

As for changing his 'wife', if I correctly understand this family system, the 'wife' can just as easily change her 'husband' for a new one. People stay together only so long as they desire each other's company.

A kinship analysis would be very interesting.
To feel happy there you must be born there, I guess.
