How long can U store DNA Sample - DNA Purification (Apr/09/2007 )

After obtaining DNA sample from DNA Purification from mouse tail, how long can U store it in -20degC?

I would use -20 for only short term storage (1-2 weeks). You'll see degradation if there is any contamination and even evaporation over extended periods. Use aliquots and store long term at -80. Freeze thaws will really beat up your DNA.

if you solve DNA in water you could keep it for 8 week and if you use Tris it is possible to stor it for even half a year at -20
